From An Idea To A Custom Piece

The small details worth gathering before you share your custom jewelry idea.

Start With What It Means

An initial, a name, a number or a symbol is a useful starting point. Write down what the piece should mean to you and how you imagine wearing it. A daily pendant and a piece for a special occasion can call for different proportions.

You do not need a finished drawing. A short description of the idea, along with the details you care about most, can begin the conversation.

Make Your References Useful

Choose a few images and explain what you like in each one. It may be the lettering in one, the outline of another, or the way a chain sits. References are most useful when they point to a detail rather than ask for a whole piece to be copied.

Mention the metal tone, stone appearance and approximate size you have in mind. If the piece is a gift, add anything you know about the recipient’s existing jewelry and preferred style.

Leave Room For The Conversation

Include a comfortable budget range and any date you are working towards. These are starting points to discuss, rather than a guarantee of price or timing.

Use the custom jewelry form to share your idea and up to three reference images. The next step is to talk through what may be possible, clarify the details and agree on the way forward before a piece is made.
